Sevener, Eloise M.

Eloise M. (Anderson) Sevener, age 83, of Wilmington, died peacefully at home on Friday, August 26, 2011. 

Eloise was born and raised in east Tawas, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Russell and Marie Anderson.  Eloise was educated in Michigan and in her early years did secretarial work for the railroad.  She met the love of her life Walter Sevener, they married in September of 1946, sharing 64 years together and raising their family.  Eloise and Walter moved their family to Massachusetts 55 years ago, settling in Wilmington.

Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Eloise worked in the payroll department for the Transitron Company in Wilmington and Wakefield.  She then went on to work as a Nurses Aide for many years at the Beaconcrest Nursing Home in Lowell, Eloise loved her job and was very kind and caring to her patients.  In later years, before her health declined, Eloise worked at Jo-Ann Fabrics in the Woburn Mall, before retiring several years ago.

Eloise will be remembered as a very loving and caring person, a woman of great faith, who was devoted to her family and friends.

Eloise was the beloved wife of Walter J. Sevener, devoted mother of Kenneth Sevener of Wilmington, Dan Sevener and his wife Christine of South Carolina, Karen Byron and her husband Vince of Derry, NH, Sue Ann Sevener of Billerica, and Debbie Mitrano and her husband Jerry of Billerica, loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, dear sister of Sally Hourihan and her husband John of Tewksbury, the late Betty Kauer, the late Leroy Anderson and his wife Margaret, sister-in-law of Dar Kauer of Michigan, Eloise is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, for Visiting Hours on Monday, August 29th from 10 – 11 a.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.   Memorial donations in Eloise’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.

    I will remember her for being there when I had a rough spot in my life. She was there to listen, walk, talk or have a cup of tea… She will be remembered fondly.

    I will always remember Aunt Eloise’s hospitality, as there was always a warm welcome and a place to stay when we got the chance to visit out east.
