Charles A. Ganno

November 14th, 2016

Charles Anthony Ganno, “Charlie”, age 72, of Wilmington, died peacefully on November 12, 2016.

Charlie was born in Boston, MA on July 27, 1944; he was the son of the late Charles and Antoinette Ganno. Charlie was raised and educated in Medford, MA and was a graduate of Medford High School.

Charlie married his “sweetheart” Marie Sutera in April of 1967; celebrating nearly 50 years of marriage together. The couple lived in Malden for a few years before moving to Wilmington in 1971 where they raised two wonderful daughters Charlene and Dawn. Charlie was very devoted to his family; he enjoyed every moment they spent together whether it was a family birthday, holiday, or special celebration; he just loved being with them. Everyone knew that Charlie loved his girls but when the grandchildren came along they were the “light of his life”. Charlie cherished being “Puppy” to Kayla, David, Anthony and Dominic; he was always so proud of them.

Charlie was also a hard worker; for many years, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Wilmington.

Charlie will be fondly remembered as a nice guy who was friendly to everyone he met. Charlie loved his family and friends unconditionally and he will forever be missed.

Charles was the beloved husband of Marie (Sutera) Ganno, devoted father of Charlene M. (Ganno) Thompson & husband David of Hubbardston and Dawn M. (Ganno) Naimo & husband Michael of Wilmington, Loving “Puppy” of Kayla & David Thompson, Jr. and Anthony & Dominic Naimo. Cherished son of the late Charles and Antoinette (Mungelli) Ganno, dear brother of Annmarie McGrane of Peabody, the late Charles Cecere and Constance Newell. Charles is also survived by many brothers and sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
