Anthony L. “Tony” Albowicz, age 68, of Wilmington, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Winchester Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Tony was born in Waltham, MA, on May 5, 1941, he was the dear son of the late Longin and Elizabeth (Roberts) Albowicz. He was a life-long Wilmington resident.

Tony loved to cook and was employed for many years as the “house” caterer for the V.F.W. Hall in Tewksbury.

Tony enjoyed traveling especially for Florida and he loved to be outdoors.

He will be fondly remembered for his artistic ability and knack for interior decorating, his sense of humor and great laugh, and for his devotion to his family. Tony was truly a man who loved life and will be greatly missed.

Tony was the husband of Joyce (Barnaby) Albowicz, devoted father of Tracy Burke & her husband Daniel and Anthony David Albowicz all of Wilmington, and Douglas Albowicz of Tewksbury, loving “grampy” of Kyle, Shawn, and Daylon Burke and David Sullivan-Albowicz, dear brother of the late Elizabeth, Judy, and Joseph. Tony is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 3rd at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Graveside Service at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Memorial donations in Anthony’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
