Alexander “Bob” Fleming

Alexander (Bob) Fleming, age 80, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, MA passed away on February 10, 2021.

Bob was the son of the late James and Sally (Cassidy) Fleming. Loving husband of 48 years to Margaret (Manley) Fleming, devoted father of Robert and his wife Kimra Fleming of Melrose, MA and David and his wife Bethany Fleming of Lake Arrowhead, CA. Loving grandfather to Sophia and Addison Fleming. Dear brother of Sally and her husband Richard Gallagher of South Carolina, the late Ann MacDonald, James and Donald Fleming, brother-in-law of Mary Fleming of Lowell, MA, James Manley and Mark and his wife Kathy Manley. Bob is survived by his loving niece Maureen Mann and her husband, Dewey, who assisted him in his final months of his two year cancer battle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Bob was an Army veteran, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), graduate of Bentley University and thirty year employee of the US Department of Defense as a Supervisory Auditor of the Defense Contract Audit Agency.

Bob enjoyed many years playing cards and golfing at Tewksbury and Hillview country clubs with the great friends he met in Wilmington and at work.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, February 15th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon followed by a Service at 12:00 noon. Masks are required to be worn while in the Funeral Home.

    The first time we met Bob and Peggy was when our daughter Kimra was dating their son Bob. The sparkle in Bob’s eyes and his friendly spirit immediately made us feel welcome in Massachusetts. We are grateful to have shared many joyous occasions with Bob including Kimra and Bob’s wedding, the birth of our granddaughters, Sophia and Addison, and David and Bethany’s wedding. He will be missed.

    Dave has known Bob for over 60 years and I for for over 50 years. It was always a great time for reminiscing when Bob came to do our taxes. He was a practical and down to earth guy and yes the ” Twinkling Eyes” and the great Laugh and Smile. We will miss him greatly.

    I could not of picked better in-laws or husband for my daughter Bethany. The first time I met Bob and Peggy, I felt like I’d known them for years! Bob was such a funny, generous man and Peggy is such a sweetheart! Together they raised 2 amazing sons and I’m so honored to call them family!
