Anne Marie Meehan

January 21st, 2018

Anne Marie Meehan, age 62, of Wilmington, passed away at home on January 19, 2018.

Anne was born on August 12, 1955 in Somerville, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late H. Joseph and Grace L. (Duffy) Meehan.  Ann was raised in a very loving household with her parents and three older brothers; she was definitely treated the “queen” of the house and this was a role she enjoyed.  During the summer, Anne attended Camp 40 Acres in Wilmington which she thoroughly enjoyed.  Anne participated in many events at the camp including swimming, softball, and talent shows.  Anne had a wonderful sense of humor and a great personality which led to many friendships with her fellow campers and the camp staff.

Anne had several jobs throughout her life but she really liked working at Pizza Hut.  Anne took her work very seriously; she was very punctual, hard working, and personable with the customers.

Anne was a sports fanatic; she loved all Boston sports teams but her favorites were the Bruins and the Red Sox. Anne enjoyed watching and attending countless games throughout the years with her family and friends; she wasn’t afraid to root for her favorite team and she always had a great time.

Anne will be fondly remembered for her charm and personality as well as her big heart and a great smile.  She was very kind and sweet and she will forever be in the hearts of those she touched.

Anne was the cherished daughter of the late H. Joseph and Grace L. (Duffy) Meehan, dear sister of James J. Meehan & his wife Joanne of Millis, Richard J. Meehan & his wife Wanda of Leominster, Jack F. Meehan & his wife Susan of Standish, ME.  Anne is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, January 22nd from 9:00 -9:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

I am sorry for loss. I will always remember Anne as a loving, funny gal that loved to tell you jokes, she cracked herself up with them! She loved her job at CVS and couldn’t wait to come home with her soda and cupcakes! It was a pleasure to have been a part of her life while she lived in several of the NuPath homes. She will be missed but not forgotten.

  4. Matt Donnelly says:

Two thumbs up is most appropriate as it is how I remember Anne. I loved when she would take us by the hands and swing us in a circle (tirelessly) and we would giddily laugh and stumble about and beg her for more…which of course she did even though she was dizzy too. Anne was a neighborhood favorite of me, my wife, brothers and sisters and all the kids and I’m sure that she was a favorite of God’s. Our prayers are with the Anne and the Meehan family.

  5. Janet Flaherty says:
