Anthony James “A.J.” Lees

Anthony James “A.J.” Lees, age 47, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2014. A.J. was the beloved husband of Hannah E. Hoffmann Lees, devoted father of Jessica Anne Lees of Winthrop, Kristina Marie Lees of Wilmington and the late LCPL Timothy F. Ryan, III, son of James Wallace Lees, Jr. of Ashville, NC, dear brother of Sandra Melanson-Aussem of Waltham and Jennifer Conte of Scituate, loving uncle of Michael Melanson and Anthony Conte. A.J. is also survived by his in-laws, Kurt and Maureen Hoffmann and their children Ryliegh & Matthew Hoffmann all of Tewksbury.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 62) Wilmington, on Wednesday, October 15th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations in A.J.’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. A.J. was a U.S. Marine Veteran.

    I am so saddened by AJ’s passing. I did not know him very well, but Jennifer and I have been best friends for almost 30 years and because of that friendship I feel I knew him very well. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Find peace in knowing that he is at peace and watching over all of you.
