Arlene M. (Ohanesian) McGrane, age 85, of Methuen, formerly of Peabody, passed away peacefully on January 1st, surrounded by her family.
Raised in Arlington, Arlene was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1952. Arlene moved to Peabody, raised her family and resided there for 38 years. She had a long career as an administrator for several businesses, including Radcliffe College.
Arlene was the beloved wife of the late John F. McGrane, Sr., loving mother of John F. McGrane, Jr. & his wife Bonnie of Haverhill and Christine Fritz & her husband Michael of Methuen, cherished “Mimi” of Meaghan and Anthony McGrane, daughter of the late Aram “Harry” and Theresa (Joyce) Ohanesian, dear sister of the late Theresa Beckham and Joyce Ohanesian. Arlene is also survived by her nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, January 7th, from 11:00-11:45 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery.

Arlene’s not physically here anymore but her love and light lives on forever. I’m praying for peace for the entire family as you go through this difficult loss. I know she is looking down from Heaven, with Jack, her parents, and sisters by her side, telling them how proud she is of you all.
