Arthur S. Love, Sr.

March 26th, 2015

Arthur S. Love, Sr., age 76, of Haverhill, formerly a resident of Tewksbury, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 25, 2015.

Arthur was born on October 5, 1938 in Boston, Mass; son of the late James and Mary (Dias) Love. Arty was one of 9 children. He grew up in Tewksbury, Mass on 102 Brown Street. After school, he went off to the Army Service for several years then returned back to Tewksbury. That is where he met his wife. On October 3, 1959, he married Yvonne A. Gagnon, and they shared 55 Years of marriage together. They resided in Tewksbury until 2008 then moved to Haverhill.

Arty was a devoted father to five children. He lost his second child Albert William when he was 2 years old. Albert’s memory was forever in his heart. To Arty his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Everyone that surrounded him would hear endless stories about their accomplishments. Up until the end when he was telling everyone he met about them. He was a loyal friend that would help a stranger if they were in need of help. In his house when we were growing up there was always an open door policy. No questioned asked he would just call the parents to tell them they were safe. He lived his life always helping people in need. He will be dearly missed by all.

Arthur is survived by Yvonne A. (Gagnon) Love, father of Arthur S. Love, Jr. & his wife Connie of Hattiesburg, MS, Michael D. Love & his wife Carol of Haverhill, Lisa A. Pisano & her husband Michael of Haverhill, Lora Manning & her husband Thomas of East Hampstead, NH and the late Albert W. 12. Tara Manchester & Wayne Slayton says:

Our deepest sympathies go out to all of Arthurs’ family and friends. We will never forget Arthur, and all that he did for us. We only knew him for 18 months, but it felt like we knew him all our lives. He always talked about his family, always happy stories. All of their acomplishments and the visits. He made us feel like we were a part of his family. He was always calling us ” His Kids”. He had a way of making you feel special, and loved. He had such a big heart, and he loved animals. He treated our cat Streak like family also. When he would see our cat, he would say ” How is my little buddy today?” Wayne and I are deeply saddened by Arthurs’ passing, and we are heartbroken that we couldn’t pay our respects at his services. But we did not know about them. Arthur Please forgive us for not being there to say Good-Bye. We will always love you, and you will live forever in our hearts and minds. And you will live forever in the hearts and minds of all of your family and friends, and everybody that you ever had contact with. RIP Arthur.
