Barbara A. (Rossetti) Maggio

Barbara A. (Rossetti) Maggio, age 82, of Tewksbury, formerly a long-time resident of East Boston, passed away on September 23, 2020 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Barbara was born on June 6, 1938 in Boston, MA; she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Anunziata (Mayo) Rossetti. Barbara grew up in a large, loving family of sisters in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School.

Barbara met the “love of her life”, Paul J. Maggio over sixty-four years ago; Paul knew right away that he had found “the one.” After dating for a few years, Barbara and Paul married on September 13, 1959. They had three wonderful children, Paul, Jr., Joey and Michele. The couple lived in the city for over 30 years, before moving to Tewksbury in the early 90’s. Paul and Barbara were devoted to each other and loved spending time together.

Barbara worked at Jordan Marsh and Macy’s in the Bridal registry. Her sense of style and class made for a great fit in her position. Barbara enjoyed making the brides feel beautiful and took pride in her work.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and spending time with her family.

Barbara will be remembered as a beautiful wife, mother, “Gram” and sister. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Paul J. Maggio, devoted mother of Paul J. Maggio, Jr. & his wife Gina of Revere, Michele Capistran & her husband Richard of Wilmington and the late Joseph Maggio, loving “Gram” of Jessica, Erika, Courtney and Michael, great-grandmother of Gino, dear sister of Joanne Lee & her late husband Carl, Dolores Wright & her husband George and the late Marie Morano & her late husband Vinny. Barbara is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, September 25th from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 12:00 noon. Interment to take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

    My heartfelt sympathy to you on the passing of Barbara. Also condolences to Paul Jr. and Michelle and remembrance of Joey. Freddy kept me posted of Barbara’s over the past few years and although you and the family are grief ridden, it should be a little comforting knowing that she is united with Joey and looking down on you all
