Bernadette Rita (Chartier) Rowland

Bernadette Rita (Chartier) Rowland, age 76, of Nashua, NH, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua on June 26, 2014.

Bernadette was born on March 30, 1938 in Springfield, MA.  Bernadette grew up in Cambridge and Somerville.

Bernadette married the love of her life, Edward T. Roland in 1957.  The couple settled in Wilmington in the early 1960’s, where they raised their three children; Keith, Desiree and Brian.

Bernadette spent more than 40 years in Wilmington before relocating to Nashua 10 years ago to be closer to her family.

Bernadette was a dedicated and hard worker.  She worked as a Trouble Shooter for AGFA for many years before retiring.

Bernadette was a devoted and loving mother.  She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a “Grammy” to her 7 grandchildren.  Bernadette loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.  She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company.

Bernadette was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Bernadette was the beloved wife of the late Edward T. Rowland, devoted mother of Keith Rowland, Desiree Patno & her husband Tim all of Nashua, and the late Brian Rowland, loving “Grammy” of Travis Allen, Brandon Edward, Trey Elliott, Alexander Russell, Andrew Joseph, Shea Thomas, Cole Timothy.  Bernadette was also very special to Timmy Patno & his wife Sara of Pepperell.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday, July 1st for Visitation from 11:00-1:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I have many good memories of you both and Brian when you were little, and your Mom and Dad. I still live in Wilmington so I visit the grave when I am over there My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Bernie was a one of a kind :-) May she rest in peace!
