Beverly A. Pereira

October 15th, 2021

Beverly Ann Pereira (Wheaton), age 78, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2021, at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington.

Beverly was born on January 24, 1943, in Woburn, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Harold G. and Margaret D. (Joyce) Wheaton. Beverly, along with her siblings, were raised and educated in Burlington and Winchester as young kids before moving to Woburn where they lived for many years.

Beverly married her “handsome young sailor” Edward Pereira on July 27, 1962; the couple were stationed in several places before building their home in Wilmington in 1968. Beverly loved her new home, throughout the years she had an “open door policy” where all were welcomed and made to feel like “family”. Beverly was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her family was her number one priority and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t or couldn’t do for them. Beverly, cherished her role as “Grandma” and “Great-Grandma” she adored her grandchildren and looked forward to every moment they spent together.

Beverly and Ed, along with their family and friends spent many wonderful years together, they traveled, enjoyed holidays, special occasions and just hanging out together. They also had many wonderful neighbors who were like extended family. In later years, Beverly and Ed, became “snow birds” to escape the New England Winters and all the shoveling; they headed south to Port Charlotte, Florida to enjoy sun, fun, friends and more good times.

Beverly will be fondly remembered for her many wonderful qualities; she was a novice painter who created beautiful paintings that were shared with her family. She was a hard worker and always out and about doing for others. She was outgoing, friendly, kind, caring and extremely giving; Beverly would give you the “shirt off her back”, no questions asked and never expect anything in return. Beverly’s charismatic personality drew people in, everyone loved her and she loved everyone. Beverly will forever be in hearts of those she touched.

Beverly was the beloved wife of Edward M. Pereira, devoted mother of Virginia Manro and her husband Philip of Dunbarton, NH and the late Pauline Lowney. She was the loving “Grandma” of Anthony Guerriero, Nicholas Guerriero and his wife Elizabeth, Christopher Guerriero, Alexandra Balevre, the late Kelli Walker and Great-Grandchildren Domenic and Angel Walker. She was the dear sister of Jane Camara and her husband Joe of Milton, NH, Joseph Wheaton of Woburn, the late Joyce Proctor, Harold, Edward and James Wheaton. Beverly is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Sunday, October 17th from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Beverly’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
