Brenda L. (Lesko) Dastous

 Brenda L. (Lesko) Dastous, age 66, of Chelmsford, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 27, 2012, following a lengthy illness.  
Brenda was born and raised in Somerville, MA, she came into the world on July 18, 1945 and she was the cherished only daughter of Walter and Juanita (Wilson) Norman.  Brenda was educated in Somerville and a graduate of the Somerville High School, Class of 1963.   Following High School, Brenda enlisted in the United States Army  on July 30, 1963, during the Vietnam War.  Brenda was proud to serve her country and was honorably discharged from Fort Holabird, Maryland on July 16, 1965, returning home to Somerville.   
In 1972, Brenda moved to Wilmington where she raised her three children; Brenda was a very devoted and caring mother who always put her family first and worked hard to provide for them.  Brenda lived in Wilmington for more than 20 years before moving to Tewksbury for a couple of years and finally settling in Chelmsford in 1996.  
Brenda was a very talented artist and had great computer skills; she was employed as a Graphic Designer/Specialist supporting the Air Force Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base for over ten years before her illness forced her to retire.  
In her spare time, Brenda enjoyed doing ceramics and she loved to ride motorcycles with her husband and their friends.    Brenda’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, she treasured every moment spent with them and she was extremely proud of all of their accomplishments. 
Brenda was kind and caring and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  
Brenda was the beloved wife of Andrew A. Dastous, devoted mother of Yvonne Chappie of Methuen, Corinne Lord & her husband Cliff, and Robert Lesko & his wife Jenna all of Wilmington, step-mother of Jamie Roman & her husband Billy of Dracut and Keri Dastous of Chelmsford, loving “Nana” of Jolie & Cody Chappie, Mandi, Tori & Bobby Lord, Anthony & Lucia Roman, cherished daughter of Walter and Juanita (Wilson) Norman, dear sister of Bill Norman & his wife Sandy of Billerica, special aunt of Billy & Jen Norman and their children Delaney & Devin, and Kim & Jamie Ledoux and their children Teagan & Sophie. Brenda is also survived by several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.  
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.  Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 1st from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Brenda’s memory may be made to or to Local Heroes, Inc., P. O. Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.
