Carol F. (Kultgen) Murphy

Carol Florence (Kultgen) Murphy, age 90, of Woburn, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away surrounded by her loving children on May 6, 2020.

Carol was born on October 13, 1929 in Fredonia, Wisconsin; she was the cherished daughter of the late Otto and Mary Kultgen. Carol was raised in the Midwest and attended St. Mary’s College.

Carol met and married the late Edward Murphy and the couple settled in Warwick, RI where they raised their three children, Mark, Eileen and Drew.

Carol worked as an Accountant for Textron for many years before she retired.

In her spare time, Carol loved to travel, dine at gourmet restaurants and attend Broadway plays. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Carol will be remembered as a warm, caring, loving mother and grandmother.

Carol was the wife of the late Edward Murphy, devoted mother of Eileen Gilligan & her husband Paul of Wilmington, Drew Murphy & his wife Lori of Warwick, RI and the late Mark Murphy, loving grandmother of Courtney Gilligan, Shannon Gilligan, Dylan Murphy and Jordan Murphy.

Due to the current situation of the coronavirus and for everyone’s safety, the Murphy family has decided to have a private service at this time.

Memorial donations in Carol’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02454 or online through act.alz.org.
