Carol J. Mills

Carol J. Mills died on June 30, 2021 after a brief illness.

Carol was born August 17, 1949 in Melrose. She grew up in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High in 1967. After high school, Carol worked at General Electric in Lynn and later Ametek in Wilmington, retiring in 2009.

In addition to being an avid reader, Carol enjoyed traveling with her mother Helen (Wood) and her loving companion, Jim Kinsella. Her travels included England, Ireland, Mexico, India, Brazil & Canada, as well as many parts of the U.S.

Carol’s greatest joy was being in the company of others. She was blessed to have many close friends whom she enjoyed regularly attending plays, movies and going out to dinner with. Carol was the center of family gatherings. Her stories brought humor and entertainment to every occasion.

Carol is predeceased by her parents Helen and Frederick Mills of Saugus, her brother Thomas Mills and her companion of many years, Jim Kinsella. She leaves behind her brother David and wife Donna of Naples, Florida, sister Laurel Leary and her husband Kevin of Sarasota, Florida, sister-in-law Laurel Mills of Wilmington, seven nieces and nephews and five grand nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave (Rt. 62) Willington, MA, on Sunday July 11th for visitation from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

    Carol was good generous and kind.She was almost the social director for many of her friends. While we will all miss her terribly, we will certainly remember her zest for life.

    I worked in the office at GE/Ametek with Carol for 45 years, she loved to go places and work parties. She will be missed by many people, and remembered by everyone she met. She was always fun to be with.

    Carol & I have known each other since we were 18 years old. Although our lives took a different course, we always stayed in touch over the years. She was truly a good, kind lady, always fun to be with and always on the go. I can still hear her laugh! Rest in peace my dear friend, you fought a good fight.

    Carol was a very friendly person with a big heart. I will miss seeing her at the Tewksbury Library’s film screenings, plays and concerts. Condolences to her family and friends.
