Catherine A. Murphy

Catherine A. Murphy (Barr), “Cathy”, age 84, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away on August 14, 2021, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Catherine was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. Murphy of Wilmington, devoted mother of Joseph Murphy and Brian Murphy & his wife Christine Losea all of Cumberland, RI, Jeffrey Murphy of Wilmington and the late Lynne Murphy, loving “Grammy” of Matthew, Caitlin, Jack, Zachary and Annika Murphy, cherished daughter of the late Francis X. and Helena G. (Meehan) Barr, dear sister of Francis X. Barr, Jr. & his wife Jean of Oxford, CT. Catherine is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, August 20th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. followed by a Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. www.nicholsfuneralhome.com

    To Joe , Brian , and Jeff , l am sadden to hear of your mom ‘ s passing.Growing up with you guys and hanging out at your home both your mom and dad always made me feel at home . Memories of playing ice hockey on the backyard rink , never forgot that ! I send you all prayers and am thinking of all of you
