January 6th, 2020

Charles H. Foster, Jr., age 93, a long-time resident of Billerica and raised in Brookline, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2020.

Charles was born on September 8, 1926, in Malden, MA; he was the dear son of the late Charles and Myrtle Foster. Charles was raised and educated in Brookline, MA and was a graduate of Brookline High School. Following High School, Charles was drafted into the United States Army on January 8, 1945. Charles was honorably discharged in November of 1946 and returned home to his family.

Charles married the “love of his life” Frances Brennick on October 23, 1955; the couple lived in Somerville for several years before moving to Billerica in the early 1960’s, where they raised their daughters. Charles was a devoted and loving family man; he was always attentive to “his girls” and would do anything to make them happy. Charles loved being Papa to Taylor and Sean; he would attend all of their school and sporting events, take family vacations with them or just head over to their house to “hang out” with them; they really brightened his world.

Charles was a man of many talents; he enjoyed boating and building boats and he could fix just about anything. Charles went out of his way to help his family, friends and neighbors with anything that needed fixing; he was truly a “jack of all trades”.

In his spare time, Charles, enjoyed following Boston sports especially the Bruins where he was a season ticket holder for many years and attended lots of great games.

Charles worked hard to provide for his family; he was the New England Service Manager for the Cummins Allison Technology Company for many years. Charles’ had a great work ethic, vast knowledge of his field and an endearing personality towards his clients and co-workers. He was a great asset to his company.

Charles will be fondly remembered for his unconditional love and devotion for his family and friends. He was very kind to everyone and he will forever be in the hearts of those he touched.

Charles was the beloved husband of the late Frances T. (Brennick) Foster, cherished and loving father of Denise Higgins & her husband Joseph of Wilmington and Gayle Foster of Billerica. Devoted and adoring “Papa” of Taylor and Sean Higgins, dear son of the late Charles H.
