Charles P. Ventre, Jr.

Charles P. Ventre, Jr. “Charlie”, age 69 of Hill, New Hampshire, formerly of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2018.

Charlie was born in Cambridge, MA on January 2, 1949; he was the dear son of the late Charles P. Sr. and Alice B. (Leuchter) Ventre. Charlie was raised and educated in Wilmington; he attended the North Intermediate School and was a graduate of Wilmington High School. Following graduation, Charlie, enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1967; Charlie proudly served two consecutive tours of duty in Vietnam and received several commendations including the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/60 Device, Vietnam Service Medal, Two Overseas Bars, National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Badge M-16. Charlie was honorably discharged to the Army Reserves in February of 1971 and continued to serve the country as a reservist until 1975.

Charlie was a hard worker throughout the years; he got into the construction field and was self-employed as a painter for many years.

Charlie is survived by his son Paul J. Ventre of Florida, his granddaughters Victoria, Tasha and Makaiya Ventre all of North Carolina, his sister and brothers; Alice B. Fahey & husband David of Wilmington, Andrew R. Ventre Sr. of Wilmington, Harold J. Ventre of Lowell, John W. Leuchter & his wife Patricia of Stoneham and he was also the brother of the late Nancy D. Butler of Wilmington. Charlie is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, September 21st for Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to Local Heroes, P. O. Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.
