Christine E. (Connolly) Dooley

June 19th, 2013

Christine E. (Connolly) Dooley, age 59, of Wilmington, formerly of Everett, died peacefully on June 19, 2013, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, following a 13 year battle with cancer.

Christine was born in Woburn, MA, on May 15, 1954; she was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Helen (Fields) Connolly.  Christine was raised in a large, loving family in Everett, MA, and was a graduate of Everett High School with the Class of 1973.

Christine married “the love of her life” Arthur J. Dooley, in November of 1987, sharing more than 25 years together and making many great memories for generations to come.  The couple  moved to Wilmington in 1995, where they raised two wonderful sons Ryan and Alan.  Christine loved being a mother, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her “boys”.  Family was certainly first and foremost to Christine and they in turn gave her the strength to fight her illness and live life to the fullest.

In her spare time, Christine enjoyed shopping, doing crafts, boating, and summering at Lake Sebago with her family and friends.

Christine will be fondly remembered and truly admired for her courage in the face of adversity and for her devotion to her family and friends.  Christine was kind, caring, and giving; she was truly quite a lady who will be truly missed by many.

Christine was the beloved wife of Arthur J. Dooley, devoted mother of Ryan Joseph Dooley and Alan Stephan Dooley all of Wilmington, cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Fields) Connolly, dear sister of Kevin Connolly & his wife Arlene of Woodinville, WA, Karen Lessard & her husband David of Winthrop, Brian Connolly & his wife Joanne of Hampstead, NH, Keith Connolly & his wife Shelly Smith of Seattle, WA, Mark Connolly of Springfield, Lisa Taylor & her husband Ron of Chester, NH, and the late Patricia Duffy, sister-in-law of Mary & Robert Guanci of Wilmington.  Christine is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends gathered at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, June 22nd at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m.  Donations in Christine’s memory may be made to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Funding directed towards the Division of Otolaryngology, 75 Francis St., Boston, MA 02115.
