Clifton A. “Cliff” Hall

March 15th, 2017

Clifton A. Hall, “Cliff”, age 56, of Londonderry, NH, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA died surrounded by his loving family on March 13, 2017, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.

Cliff was born in Medford, MA on September 2, 1960; he was the cherished son of Valerie and the late Chester Hall of Wilmington. Cliff was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington Public Schools; he was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1978. Cliff was an avid athlete while growing up; he played youth soccer and was an outstanding soccer player for Wilmington High School. Cliff continued to play this sport throughout his life and was also very involved as a Wilmington Youth Soccer Coach for many years.

Following High School, Cliff went on to continue his education and earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Art Design from University of Massachusetts Lowell Campus.

Cliff was a man of many talents and a “natural” when it came to art; at the time of his death, Cliff was employed as an Art Director for the Dell Company. Cliff’s hard work and talents along with his endearing personality made him quite a success in his field.

On October 25, 1986, Cliff married the “love of his life and his best friend” Elena Giangregorio; together they raised two beautiful children Cliff Jr. and Mary. Cliff was the best husband and father; his love for his family was unconditional and he treasured every moment he spent with them. Cliff was always there to support his children, attend their school events, coach their sports, watch them grow and teach them to be wonderful adults. Cliff enjoyed playing pool with his son Cliff; they also spent hours talking sports especially football. Cliff looked forward to his “karaoke” nights with his daughter Mary where they spent countless hours belting out their favorite tunes. Cliff was quite a singer and could do a phenomenal impersonation of Neil Diamond; he even made several CD’s throughout the years including a special recording that was played at his daughter Mary’s wedding.

Cliff and Elena had a wonderful relationship and were truly devoted to each other. They loved going out with friends or just hanging out with family; no matter what they were doing they enjoyed being together.

Cliff was a man of many talents, not only was he a great athlete, artist, and singer but he was a beautiful writer who composed many wonderful poems that were shared with his family and friends. Cliff had the ability to write from the heart and express the love he felt for those around him.

Cliff will be fondly remembered for his kindness and compassion towards others; he had a huge heart and a gentle personality as well as a great smile. Cliff was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and a true friend to many; he will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Cliff was the beloved husband of Elena (Giangregorio) Hall, devoted father of Clifton A. Hall, Jr. of Londonderry, NH and Mary E. Donnelly & husband William of Medford, MA. Cherished son of Valerie (Wilkes) Hall of Pelham, NH and the late Chester Hall, Jr.. Dear brother of Valerie Samuels & husband Wayne of Pelham, NH, Lesa Hall & boyfriend Chris DiCecca of Wilmington, the late Chester Hall III & his wife Sheila Hall of Royalston, and Mark Phillips & wife Dianne of Quincy. I think it was 1977, we were at Phillips Academy Exeter soccer camp together and we were out on the field and all of a sudden everybody’s hair stood on end. All of a sudden a bolt of lightning hit dead center in the middle of the field…To this day I don’t know how we survived that. That was 40 years ago but I remember it like it happened only yesterday. We all dodged a bullet that day.
Rest in peace buddy. It was an honor and a pleasure to have been on the field with you.
