Corinne McGrath

Corinne (Armstrong) McGrath, age 80, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away on October 24, 2021, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, following a lengthy illness.

Corinne was born on July 8, 1941, in Boston, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late John and Emily (Peters) Armstrong. Corinne was raised and educated in Revere.

Corinne furthered her education at Salem State, where she earned a teaching degree. Upon graduation, she was offered a teaching position for Gloucester Public Schools. After more than forty years of teaching the children of Gloucester, Corinne retired.

Corinne married Philip J. McGrath on June 27, 1971. They were married for more than fifty years and had many wonderful memories with family and friends.

Corinne was the dear sister of Kenneth Armstrong & his wife Nancy of Nashua, NH, the late Donald Armstrong, and the late Joan McKenzie. Corinne is survived by her sister-in-law Dolly Armstrong of Marlborough, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, October 26th from 10:00-10:45 a.m. immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Memorial donations in Corinne’s name may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472.

    Auntie Cori, thank you for being the best Aunt and Godmother to me and a loving Great Aunt to our Emily. I have so many fond memories of family get together, you visiting me in DC while I was in college and being able to spend many holidays and birthdays with you and Uncle Phil over the years. I love you so much and so thankful you are at peace. Give hugs and kisses to all our family who have gone before you, Grammy, Pappy, Aunt Joan and Uncle Donald. I will miss you terribly, until we meet again with Jesus.
