David Gennetti

October 22nd, 2020

David Gennetti, age 60, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, passed away after a long illness on October 20, 2020.

David was born in Stoneham, MA on September 12, 1960, to the late Daniel and Dorothy (Spadafora) Gennetti.

David worked as a carpenter and later as a technical instructor for Comcast for many years. He became involved in Wilmington Youth soccer and coached his sons during their youth soccer days. David loved cooking, especially grilling and using his smoker, fishing, gardening and riding his Harley with The Enforcers. He also enjoyed flying his drone and photography. Most importantly he loved spending time with his large family and friends who could always count on him providing the laughs from his silly antics.

David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Bolduc Gennetti, devoted father to Miranda Schnitz and her husband Mike of Barren Springs, VA; his son Luke and his fiancé Jade Thornicroft of Billerica; and the late Matthew David Gennetti. He was Grampa to Gavin and Bella Belcher and Laine Rakes of Barren Springs, VA.

David was the beloved brother William Gennetti and his wife Cathy, Barbara Gennetti, Janice Gennetti and her husband Ray Owens, all of Wilmington; John Gennetti of Tewksbury, and recently deceased Daniel Peter Gennette. He was also the nephew of Salvatore “Butch” Gennetti of Malden. David is also survived by many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him “U.D.” David also leaves behind his beloved dog Scout.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA on Friday, October 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a Graveside Service in the Wildwood Cemetery, 233 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington.

Psalm 61:1-4. Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

Dear Gennetti family, I so remember David as just a cute, little tyke….so adorable and the apple of the family’s eye. I have fond memories of visiting your home and enjoying your family, especially the great Italian food! Please know that Steve and I will keep you in our prayers, God’s Grace is there for all of you just for the asking.

My condolences for Peter and his family as well. I looked at the Spadaflora Funeral Home site and found an obituary for Peter….so sorry. The loss is immense. Please know my heartfelt prayers are there for Peter’s family as well.
