Deborah J. (Plumer) Rousseaux-Ellsworth, age 62, a life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2021.
Deborah was born on April 19, 1959, in Lowell, MA; she was the cherished only child of Ralph and June (Goss) Plumer. Deborah was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1977.
Deborah worked as a paralegal in Boston for many years, but her favorite “role” was Mom. She was a devoted mother to Michaela and David, who she raised in Wilmington. Deb was fiercely protective of her children; there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She served as an advocate for their education and a Den Mother for David’s Cub Scouts.
Deborah married “her best friend”, Thomas Ellsworth, eighteen years ago, but they have shared over thirty years of wonderful memories. Deb and Tom loved to try new restaurants and attend the theater—some of their favorite shows included Wicked, 12 Angry Men, and especially Dirty Dancing.
Deb loved to travel; she always looked forward to her annual trip to Aruba. She enjoyed relaxing on the beach and taking in the beautiful sights.
In her spare time, Deb enjoyed organizing family activities; she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to crochet and share her creations with her family and friends.
Deborah was a loving wife, mother, and daughter. She will be remembered for her warm, loving personality. Deb will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Deborah was the beloved wife of Thomas E. Ellsworth, devoted mother of Michaela Ferretti & her husband Lawrence of Marietta, GA and David Rousseaux & Amy Martin of Raymond, NH, cherished only child of Ralph and June (Goss) Plumer of Wilmington. Deborah was very special to Elyssa Lowery & her husband Eric of Rockford, IL, Erin Whitehouse & her husband Logan of British Columbia, Katelyn Lameyer & her husband Jon of Belvidere, IL and the late Thomas Ellsworth and their children Jocelyn, Autumn, Brighton, Keela, Phelan, Finnegan, Teernan, Brookelyn, Ryleigh, Harli and Jaxson. Deborah is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, September 27th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Tom, I am so sorry to hear about Deb’s passing. She and I worked together for many years and had many laughs. And I always looked forward to chatting with you at firm functions. I will keep her and you in my prayers.
You are all in my prayers. It’s not easy to lose a mother (I know this) and especially unexpected to lose your child. While your hearts are feeling broken right now it is my prayer that you will all find peace knowing that she is with our savior, Jesus Christ, looking forward to the day that she is joined by her family and friends.
Deb and I were “train friends,” traveling to and from our jobs each day and walking together to our respective law firms. She was a pleasure to be with. I am so sorry for your loss; you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
