Deirdre “Dee” Doyle

May 27th, 2019

Deirdre M. Doyle “Dee” (Sullivan), age 65, of Wilmington, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on May 24, 2019, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston following a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Dee was born in Cambridge, MA on July 13, 1953; she was the dear daughter of the late Eddie and Rosemary Sullivan. Dee was raised and educated in Cambridge and a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School. She went on to further her education at BriMan College School of Medical Arts where she earned her Associates Degree as a Medical Secretary.

Dee married her “high school sweetheart” Tom Doyle in July of 1982; the couple made their home in Wilmington over 35 years ago where they raised their son Tom Jr. Dee was a very devoted and loving wife and mother; her family was her world.
Dee was known to be a “uniter” who enjoyed bringing her family and friends together for holidays and special occasions.

Dee was also a hard worker; for many years she worked as a medical secretary at Beth Israel in Boston until her son was born and she decided to be home and open a daycare business. Dee truly loved her job as a daycare provider; she was wonderful to the children that were in her care throughout the years and she always treated them as if they were her own.

In her spare time, Dee, enjoyed reading, watching sports especially the Patriots, going to the beach and hanging out with her friends. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor; she loved a good joke, a good laugh and she had an infectious smile.

Dee was a very kind and caring person who loved her family and friends with all her heart. She was truly “one of a kind” and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dee was the beloved wife of Thomas F. Doyle, devoted mother of Thomas F. Doyle, Jr. both of Wilmington, cherished daughter of the late Timothy “Eddie” and Rosemary (Lothian) Sullivan, dear sister of Timothy Sullivan of Colorado, Michael J. Sullivan & his wife Janet, Therese Ouelette and John Sullivan all of Wilmington. Best friend of Frannie Burke, Margie Gaudette, Debbie Mason, Barbara Moura and Hazel Valentino. Dee is also survived by her beloved pets Rocky and Jazzy as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, May 30th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 31st at 10:00 in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, donation in Dee’s memory may be made to Ovarian Cancer, c/o American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. www.nicholsfuneralhome.com
