Diana F. Fitzgerald

Diana F. Fitzgerald (Silva), age 78, of Manchester, NH, formerly of Tewksbury, MA, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2020, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.

Diana was born in Cambridge, MA, on March 5, 1942; she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank Silva and Mary (Bettencourt-Silva) Olson. Diana was raised and educated in Cambridge and a graduate of Cambridge Ringe and Latin High School.

Diana was the beloved wife of the late John F. “Jack” Fitzgerald, Jr., devoted mother of Arlene Keezer and her husband Steven of Las Vegas, NV, Joseph Ferreira, Jr. and his companion Pam of Lowell, MA, Lisa Wright of Mason, NH and Michael Ferreira of Manchester, NH. Loving “Nana” of Joseph Ferreira of Denver, CO, Cheyenne Ferreira, Dusti Perkins and Jonathan Gilman all of New Hampshire. Dear sister of Dolores Medeiros and her late husband Richard formerly of Wilmington, MA and Rosemary Mulik and her husband Charles of Wilmington, MA. She is further survived by her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Diana will be fondly remembered for her love of family and the special times she spent with her grandchildren. She loved animals especially her cat, Spike. She enjoyed going to Nova Scotia to visit her husband’s family, going to fancy restaurants and she loved going to bingo with her friends.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 19th at 11:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38), Tewksbury, MA, followed by an interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Diana’s memory to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.

    Diana I will always remember our fun times at the James A Logan Post in Somerville. You and my Mom got along so well together. Seeing the 2 of you together was like watching sisters instead of watching Aunt and Niece. I love you and Jack and I can now keep all these awesome memories front and center.     To Diana’s family and Arlene, Joseph, Lisa n Michael, our deepest condolences. I remember your mom, my Aunt from another time. Living on Columbia Street I use to visit and eat stay over for dinner. That’s where I learned to stick my mashed potatoes into my peas. lol Auntie was always nice to me and I will always remember her kindness. Miss you guys. Keep your faith and draw strength from it.
