Diane L. Peak

Diane L. Peak (Zinck), age 79, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2019, at the Blaire House in Tewksbury.

Diane was born on April 26, 1939, in Cambridge, MA; she was raised and educated in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School with the Class of 1957.

On June 14, 1958, Diane married the “love of her life” Donald Peak. Diane and Don shared over 60 wonderful years together and made countless memories before his passing in October of 2018. Diane and Don moved to Wilmington in 1965 and raised a beautiful family. Diane was very devoted to her family; she was so proud of her children Jennie and Doug and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren Connor and Sarah. Diane looked forward to family gatherings, vacations and special occasions that brought everyone together.

Diane was a woman of great faith and very active in her church. For many years, Diane, was the secretary at the Wilmington United Methodist Church as well as a lay minister and a member of the church choir. Diane was also employed as the Benefits Administrator for the Southern New England Methodist Conference. Diane was a great employee; she was knowledgeable, hardworking and very sweet. Diane made many life-long friends within her church community; many of whom she considered her “extended family”.

In her spare time, Diane, enjoyed reading and traveling to new places. Diane was known as a “foodie”; she lived to eat and enjoyed trying varieties of foods from all over the world. Diane also loved to cook; she had tons of cookbooks and whipped hundreds of new recipes throughout the years.

Diane will be fondly remembered as a wonderful lady; she was kind, caring and loving towards everyone she met. Diane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor; she would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Diane will forever be in the hearts of those she loved.

Diane was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Donald E. Peak, devoted mother of Jennie Pelletier & her husband Joseph of Chelmsford and Douglas Peak & his wife Karen of Woodbridge, VA. Cherished “Nana” of Sarah and Conner Peak, dear daughter of the late Edith (Norse) and Patsy Ceruolo, loving step-sister of Richie & Donna Ceruolo of East Boston and Marie Anzalone of Revere. Diane is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, February 15th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Diane’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church St., Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.

    Jennie, Doug and the extended Peak family – Karen and I offer our deepest sympathies on the loss of your mom. I have many pleasant memories of many conversations with your mom. we believe your mom is in a better place and her suffering has ended. If your family needs anything, please do not hesitate to call.
