Dipika Vaidya

Dipika Vaidya, age 65, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 7, 2014.

Dipika was born on September 1, 1949 in Gujarat, India.  She was the cherished daughter of the late Nirmalchandra and late Ushaben Desai.

Dipika was the beloved wife of Surendra Vaidya, sharing over 42 years of marriage together.  Dipika and Surendra moved to Wilmington in 1977, where they raised their three loving children; Meetal, Parool and Pranav.  She was also a loving “Baben” to her grandchildren, Bela and Nikhil.

Dipika earned her Master’s Degree in Economics from Gujurat State University.  She worked as an accountant at Vaidya Consultants, Inc. for many years.

Dipika loved her family and many close friends, gardening, birds, and Boston sports teams (her favorites being the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics!)

Dipika was the beloved wife of Surendra Vaidya, devoted mother of Meetal Patel & her husband Bijal of Danville, CA, Parool Vaidya of North Providence, RI and Pranav Vaidya of Framingham, loving “Baben” of Bela Patel and Nikhil Patel, cherished daughter of the late Nirmalchandra and Ushaben (Pathak) Desai.

Family and friends gathered for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, December 9th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Dipika’s name may be made to the Histiocytosis Association, 332 North Broadway, Pitman, NJ  08071.

    I am so sad to hear this new. Many memories with your family back in the day when we lived on Jere Road.     I am so sorry to hear this news, Dipika was the best neighbor and friend. She had the most gentle spirit. She was so loving, all of the time. I have so many memories, living across the street and seeing her with Meetal, Parool, Pranav, Surendra and their extended family.
