July 6th, 2013

Edward R. McInnis, age 66, of Acton, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, died peacefully on July 5, 2013, at the Emerson Hospital in Concord following a courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was born in Boston, MA, on March 14, 1947, he was the cherished son of the late John J. and Mary (LeMoure) McInnis.  Ed was raised in Wilmington, he loved to be part of the Silver Lake Crew and the Rocco’s Gang.  Ed attended Wilmington Public Schools and enlisted in the U. S. Navy on May 4, 1964, during the Vietnam War.  Ed served aboard the USS Kaskaskia and was honorably discharged on December 14, 1966, returning home to his family in Wilmington.

Ed married his High School “Sweetheart” Patricia A. Graves on August 22, 1971, sharing nearly 42 years of marriage and raising a wonderful family.

In his spare time, Ed loved to listen to music, dance, play cards, go fishing, but most of all he loved to watch the Red Sox and was probably their most “loyal fan”.

Ed will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and for his devotion to his family and friends, he was a wonderful husband, father, grampy, son, brother, uncle and a true friend.
Ed will be greatly missed by all.
