Eileen F. (Collins) Cassidy

Eileen F. (Collins) Cassidy of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Winchester Hospital at the age of 62.

Eileen was born in Somerville, on January 13, 1950, she was the dear daughter of the late John and Annie (Doherty) Collins.  Eileen was raised in Woburn and was a graduate of  St. Charles High School.

Eileen married the “love of her life” Donald Cassidy on December 4, 1976 and the couple made their home in Wilmington.  Eileen and Donald shared over 30 years of marriage and raised a wonderful son, prior to his passing in 2008.

Eileen worked as a secretary for State Street Bank prior to her retirement.

In her spare time, Eileen loved to read and she enjoyed working with stained glass, an art that she was very talented at.

Eileen will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her love for her golden retrievers Daisy and April, and for her devotion to her family and friends, especially her son and late husband.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a true friend to many, she will be greatly missed.

Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Donald Cassidy, devoted mother of Chris Cassidy of Wilmington and Somerville, dear sister of Kathy (Collins) Shea and her husband Ralph, Edward Collins and his wife Andrea all of Wilmington, and the late John J. Jr., James M., and Mary Collins and Nancy (Collins) Dell, sister-in-law of Jim and Rita Cassidy Turner, ME, loving aunt of Melissa and Brian Shea, Eric, Matthew and Brittany Collins, Jamie Collins, Sean, Liam, Brendan and Mariah Cassidy.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave.(Rte.62), Wilmington on Tuesday, May 22nd at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.  Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 21st  from 4-8 p.m.  Memorial donations in Eileen’s name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Newton, MA  02460.
