Ethel was born on December 10, 1932 in Medford, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (McCabe) Rauseo.
Ethel met and married Raymond “Ray” Robson; they spent many years together, which included their 60th Wedding Anniversary on April 14, 2016. The couple started their life together with many years in the Military, from North Carolina to Ohio and New Jersey, they went all over before settling in Wilmington with their 8 children.
Ethel was an amazing little lady that had eight kids. Ethel’s main enjoyment was her family; she taught them everything they needed to know from how to cook, clean, sew, play and to be nice to everyone as she was; in Ethel’s house you had to get along. She was a Saint to care for everyone like she did and her door was always open to all.
Ethel was a quiet little lady and Ray was a gentle giant (most times). They were an amazing couple that loved helping others. They loved a full house, always taking care of the kids who were less fortunate. All the neighborhood kids were always welcome at the Robson’s house. They even took camping trips with 8 kids and anyone’s friends that could come to any campground that would accommodate such a large group. For Ethel and Ray, it was the more, the merrier.
Ethel enjoyed traveling for hockey tournaments to Canada and New Jersey, swim meets, softball and baseball; it was no doubt that her children and grandchildren came first in her life. She also loved safaris and trips with her grandchildren to Wells Beach, ME; enjoying every minute of it. Ethel loved the beach; some of her favorite memories included rides to Revere Beach with her cousin Priscilla just to sit, talk and watch waves. Ethel was easy to please; just a Sunday ride with the sun beating down on her was perfect.
Ethel never complained about anyone or anything. She was a great little “Nana” to everyone and is going to be sadly missed by all.
Ethel was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. “Ray” Robson, mother of Diane Fanning & husband Kevin, Susan Thibeault & husband David, Raymond Robson Jr. & wife Cheryl, Robert Robson & wife Paula, Cathy Hope, Donna Elliott & husband David, John Robson & fiancé Lisa and Patricia Robson, “Nana” of 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, dear sister of the late Edward Rauseo and his wife Jean and grandmother to the late Michael Thibodeau.
