Evelyn May (King) DiNunzio, age 84, a long-time resident of Wilmington and North Reading, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 4, 2012, at the Wilmington Healthcare Center, following a lengthy illness.
Evelyn was born in Everett, MA, on July 29, 1927, she was the cherished daughter of the late William W. and Maisie E. (Hudson) King.
Prior to retiring, Evelyn worked for Avco and Compugraphic in Wilmington and for many years she was a waitress for Kitty’s Restaurant in North Reading.
In her spare time, Evelyn liked to knit and spend time with her family. She was a devoted mother and was instrumental in helping to raise her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.
Evelyn also loved animals especially her favorite pet “Scooby”.
Evelyn was the devoted mother of Michael DiNunzio and his wife Julie of Wilmington, Mary Ann DiNunzio and her husband Stephen Aylward of Tewksbury, and the late John Walter Doucette, Jr. Loving “Nana” of 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Albert King of Raymond, NH, Wallace King of North Reading, Betty DeRego and John King both of Valley Springs, CA. Evelyn is also survived by her former husband Michael DiNunzio as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours on Saturday, June 16th from 3-5 p.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. In lieu of flowers donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
