Jonathan E. Fish, age 26, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.

Jonathan was born on September 21, 1984 in Winchester, MA. He was the cherished son of Barbara L. (Gately) Fish of Wilmington and Joseph D. Fish of Dover, MA. He grew up in Burlington until the age of 9 when he moved with his family to Wilmington. Jonathan attended Wilmington Public Schools and graduated in 2003 from Wilmington High School where he played football and excelled in hockey making captain of the Wildcat hockey team his senior year. Jonathan went on to further his education at Fitchburg State College earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business in 2008 and belonged to Sigma Pi Fraternity.

Jonathan was currently employed as an facilities manager at Converse in North Andover.

Jonathan was an avid sports fan as well. He enjoyed watching the Patriots, following college hockey, and was a huge Bruins fan.

Jonathan was also well known for his great sense of humor, he was funny and loved to make people laugh. He had a happy go lucky attitude and loved to tell a story, often embellishing it at times.

What was most important in Jonathan’s life was his family, he enjoyed spending time with them. Whether it was on vacations, holidays, weekends, or just hanging out, there was no other place he wanted to be. His love for his parents and brothers was unwavering and he would have done anything for them.

Jonathan will be fondly remembered for his great personality and a smile that would light up a room. He was a wonderful son, brother, nephew, cousin, and a true friend, he touched all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

Besides his parents, Jonathan is survived by his brothers David J. Fish of Newton and Andrew T. Fish of Wilmington, his step-mother Rose DiBartolo of Dover, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Monday, January 3rd at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Sunday, January 2nd from 2-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Jonathan’s name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 60 Walnut St # 102, Wellesley, MA 02481.

    I wanted to send a note to express my deepest condolences to your family. Jonathan worked for me here at Converse and I am just devestated at the loss of this wonderful young man. I don’t exactly know how to put into words how much we loved having Jonathan as part of our team. He was always laughing, cracking a joke, or referencing some bit of useless pop culture knowledge that would always amaze us.     There are no words to lessen the pain of losing a loved one but please know that you are all in my prayers. Having coached hundreds of young men in my years as a hockey coach at WHS, I can honestly say Jon was special. He brought a spirit to the rink every day. Jon always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. What really stood out and undoubtedly lead to his being chosen captain was the sincere concern he showed for his teammates. Jon always looked out for the younger players and was a constant source of strength. I am so happy to see that his true goodness continued through out his life. Every one who knew Jon was fortunate for that gift. He will be missed.

    I was shocked to hear about Jon’s passing. Growing up and playing hockey together we became close friends. My fondest memories of Jon have always been centered around hockey, from when he would give out glucose tablets to the teammates before a game to being the emotional leader for our high school team. It lifts my spirits thinking back to those times and it is how I will always remember Jon. He was a great guy to be around and will always have a special place in my heart.
