    Dear Gilbert Family,
Word of Charlie’s passing only just reached me. It is with saddness that I offer my sympathies to you all. I knew Charlie through his many years of devoted work to Wilmington Community Television. His wry sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye are my fondest memories of him. I know he had a great love of family and community and I am sure my loss pales in comparison to your own. Again, my most heartfelt sympathies to you all.
