Kenneth Gray, age 64, of Wilmington, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Winchester hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born in Winchester, MA on April 9, 1946, Kenny was the dear son of the late Emery K. and Rose (Hatfield) Gray. Kenny moved to Wilmington at the age of 9, he spent most of his life in Wilmington and was educated there. He joined the United States Army in December 1964 and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged on March 18, 1968.

Prior to retiring, Kenny was a truck driver for Ruby Express for many years and was also a very talented finish carpenter. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardens, scuba diving, fishing, and hunting.  During one memorable hunting trip in 1970 Kenny shot a bear.

Kenny also loved the ocean and the boating trips he made with family and friends on his infamous boat “The Gray Ghost”.

He treasured the time spent with his family, especially his grandsons who he adored, his extended family, and his many friends. Kenny was a kind and gentle man who will be dearly missed.

Kenny was the devoted father of Christopher K. Gray & his wife Kathaleen of Wilmington and Joshua W. Gray of Haverhill, husband of Sharon A. (Wilson) Gray of Haverhill, loving grandfather of Keegan, Kyle, and Camden Gray, dear brother of Carol Gray of Virginia, Lucy Hunt & her husband Ralph of Billerica, Ricky Gray of Wilmington, Susan Gray of Lowell, Steven Gray & his fiancé Donna Crescenzo of Wilmington, and the late Billy and Michael Gray. Kenny was also the dear friend of many years to Bobby Lynch of Wilmington and the late Mary Anne McCabe.

Family & friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, June 1st from 3-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Kenny’s name may be made to the GRECC Program, E. N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730.
