Edward F. Hannon, age 76, a resident of Wilmington, MA since 1969, formerly of Cambridge, MA, died peacefully at home on June 1, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Lorraine (Paris) Hannon, formerly of Cambridge, MA, devoted father of Edward Hannon, Jr. of Wisconsin, William Hannon of Wilmington, MA, Thomas Hannon & his wife Kathleen of Danvers, MA, and James Hannon & his wife Jacqueline of Tewksbury, MA, dear son of the late Edward F. and Annie A. (Campbell) Hannon, brother of Mary Corriveau of Lynn, MA, the late Thomas Hannon of Cambridge, MA, and the late Ann Levoy of North Reading, MA, brother-in-law of Edna Hannon of Amesbury, Alice and John Daniluik of Cambridge, MA , Yvonne Peck of Marlboro, MA, Joanne Paris of Marlboro, MA, Patricia Joyce of Cambridge, MA, John and Jo Paris of Tyngsboro, MA, and Al Levoy of Windham, NH. Edward is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 17 nieces and nephews, and 40 great-nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, June 14th for Visiting Hours from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. Immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Haverhill, MA 01843. Edward was a United States Army Veteran, Vietnam War.

    I remember Uncle Eddie being the first diehard Sox fan I ever met. I can actually remember him talking about Jim Rice and Fred Lynn a year before they got into the majors in 1976. He said keep an eye out for these two names….and he was right!!! I thought he was some kind of baseball scout when I saw what those two did that next year as rookies! Well, I’m glad you got to see two World Series Championships and I’m sure you have a hand from up there, in the fact that they haven’t lost in June. Love and Prayers from my family to all of yours.
