Thach (Thatcher) Ngoc Hoang a friend for 17 years, one that will be sadly missed. When I mourn the loss of my dear friend, my memory recalls a smiling, fun loving, singing Thatcher who would introduce me to songs that he wrote. Though his songs were in Vietnamese, he would give me an English translation for my understanding; he also introduced me to the songs by Carol Kim, and some of his online friends. A friend that we sometimes have coffee together, or lunch that I go and fetch and at one time even forgetting to buy the rice, when he jokingly reminds me never to buy food for a Vietnamese and forget the rice.

My friend Thatcher was a businessperson, a kind man, a decent man, a teaching friend that enjoyed his work. I will miss him and hope that at some point we might meet in the great beyond. If more people in the world were like him this world would be a better and happier place. Rest in peace my friend, and to his family my prayers will always be with you. Gone too soon.

My dearest uncle, or “On Tuan” as you fondly known to our children,

I am at a loss for words, how do you describe the sadness, the pain, the empty feeling inside knowing that you are no longer here. You lived each day with such passion for everything, be it family, friends, or music. It was truly a testament of who you were as a person when so many people came to pay their last respect, but we all knew that already. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, the time we spent together at your store, and the many practical jokes between us. I bid you a good journey until we meet again. I love you with all my heart Cau! “Mrs. Jones”
