Scott W. Holloway, age 48, of Haverhill, formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, surrounded by his family, at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Scott was born on September 25, 1962, in Winchester, MA, he was the son of  John C. and the late Mary A. (Grace) Holloway of Wolfeboro, NH, formerly of Wilmington.  He grew up in Wilmington, where he was active in sports, Scott loved football he started playing at the Pop Warner level and continued right through high school playing for the Wilmington Wildcats.  Scott graduated Wilmington High School Class of 1981.

Scott was employed as a Maintenance Engineer for the Extended Stay Suites Hotel Chain for many years.

In his spare time, Scott enjoyed bowling and was the treasurer of his bowling league, he coached youth football for a number of years, and volunteered for the New Hampshire Public Auction Commission.  He loved his motorcycle and had a passion for riding.  He was the State Site Coordinator for HOG rallies and was continuously involved in raising funds for the causes he believed in and for people in need of help.  At the time of his death, Scott was the Director of the Boston Harley Owners Group which is located in Everett.  Scott made many life-time friends within his motorcycle group and they became his extended family, they will miss him dearly.

Besides his father, Scott is survived by his son John Scott Holloway of Merrimac, MA, his fiancé Patty Spakoski of Haverhill, he was the brother of Steven Holloway & his wife Terri and Jack Holloway & his wife Gail all of Wilmington, Cindy Caligandes of Wolfeboro, NH, and Mark Holloway of Portsmouth, NH, uncle of Lauren & Dan Bennett, Brent & Mariesa Holloway, Janel & Mort Smith, Jacqueline & Dan Bento, Billy & Danielle Holloway, Katie Holloway, Jeff Calligandes, Jon Calligandes, Danielle Calligandes & her fiancé Austin Maher, Dave Holloway, Carlene Holloway, Tom Holloway, Katherine Holloway, and the late Melissa Holloway, great uncle of Audrey Bennett, Nadia & Braden Smith, Brooklyn, Will, & Hunter Holloway, and Jack Holloway, Scott is also survived by many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, October 28th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Wednesday, October 27th from 3-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Scott’s name may be made to the John Scott Holloway Scholarship Fund, c/o Boston Harley Owners Group, P. O. Box 351, Revere, MA 02151.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I met Scott several months ago online in pogo..I taught him to play canasta..and had so much fun with him. What a great guy with so much spirit for upbeat and positive. So sad to hear of his passing…prayers for his family.
