J. Louis “Lou” Theriault

J. LouisTheriault, “Lou”, age 86, of Wilmington, died peacefully on February 5, 2012, at the Wilmington Healthcare Center.
Lou was born on February 4, 1926 in Cambridge, MA, he was the dear son of the late Louis G. and Esther (Arsenault) Theriault.
Lou married Lorraine McArdle in January 1950, the couple moved to Wilmington, shared over 60 years of marriage and raised  a wonderful tightknit family, before Lorraine’s passing in March of 2010.
Lou was a hard worker, he started his own home remodeling business, kitchen designing was his specialty.  He was very talented at his craft and his work can still be found throughout many homes in Wilmington and surrounding towns.
Lou was very active in the community; he was a long-time communicant at St. Dorothy’s Church and an Usher for many years.  He was also a member of the Wilmington Lions Club and did a lot of volunteer work throughout the community over the years.
In his spare time, Lou liked to stay fit by taking long walks and enjoyed watching comedy shows.
Lou will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and for his devotion to his family and friends; he was a true “fighter” and never gave up even when his health was declining.  Lou will be dearly missed by all.
Lou was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine A. (McArdle) Theriault, devoted father of Deborah Barnaby of Wilmington, Sandra Looney & her husband Steve of New Hampshire, John Theriault of Texas, J. Louis Theriault and his wife Gina of Tewksbury, and Edward A. Theriault of Wilmington, loving “Pa” of four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, dear brother of George Theriault of Stoneham, Charles Theriault of Wilmington, Flora McGowan of Florida, the late Robert Theriault and Roger Theriault.  Lou is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, February 9th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main Street (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 11:00 a..m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Wednesday, February 8th from 6-8 p.m.  Memorial donations in Lou’s name may be made to the Wilmington Healthcare Center, 750 Woburn St., Wilmington, MA 01887.

    Our condolences to you all. Your father was a wonderful, talented man who worked hard, loved his wife and raised a great family. We’ll always remember his love of animals and his creativity, showcased in the beautiful birdhouse he made us. He will be missed.
