Jacqueline D. “Jackie” (Quandt) Grinley

Jacqueline D. “Jackie” (Quandt) Grinley, age 77, of Ashland, NH, formerly of Wilmington, MA and Kissimmee, FL, passed away peacefully at home after a long period of failing health on October 15, 2014.

Jackie was born in Wilmington, MA on March 27, 1937; she was the cherished daughter of Alex and Mary (Hutchins) Quandt.

Jackie spent many years living in Massachusetts; Bridgewater, New Hampshire; Kissimmee, Florida; and most recently Ashland, New Hampshire.

Jackie met and married the late Edward F. Grinley. Together, the couple shared more than 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Ed and Jackie had a wonderful marriage and shared many memories with their children; Edward, Richard, Linda and David.

Over the course of her life, Jackie worked as a housekeeper, owning her own business. She also owned an antique store with her husband, Ed and set up at many flea markets.

In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed visiting with family and friends, visiting yard sales, shopping, playing bingo and cards. She also was a proud member of the American Legion Auxillary.

Jackie was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Grinley, devoted mother of Edward Grinley and his wife Pamela of Grafton, NH, Richard Grinley and his wife Sheila of Ashland, NH, Linda Jenness and her husband Mike of Plymouth, NH, and the late David Grinley, loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, cherished daughter of the late Alexander and Mary “Mae” Quandt, dear sister of Alexander Quandt and his wife Barbara of Londonderry, NH, Janice Quandt of Wilmington, Roger Quandt and his wife Marcie of Hampton, NH, Mary Rexford and her husband Jim of Billerica, MA, Robert Quandt and his wife Janice of Tennessee and the late Kathy Blackburn. Jackie is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Sunday, October 19th for Visiting Hours from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 2:00-5:00 p.m. concluding with a Funeral Service at 5:00 p.m., followed by a gathering afterwards. A private family burial will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations in Jackie’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.

    So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have wonderful memories as a child of Aunt Jackie. I remember many visits to the house in NH, as well as Jellystone. That is a part of my childhood I will never forget. I will forever remember her contagious laugh. Rest in peace Aunt Jackie.
