James P. DeRosa

James P. DeRosa, fondly known as “Jimmy” or “Jim” to his family and friends, passed unexpectedly on November 24, 2020, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Jimmy was born on October 19, 1992, in Winchester, MA; he was the cherished son of Regina (Quinlan) DeRosa and John DeRosa. Jimmy was raised and educated in Wilmington where he excelled academically in his studies; he went on to graduate Wilmington High School with the Class of 2011.

Jimmy was a gifted welder for Awnco Awnings of Wilmington travelling throughout New England to install awnings for businesses. Most recently he worked in Sales for Interior Detail of Norwell, MA.

In his spare time, Jimmy, enjoyed “hanging out” with his friends, listening to music, playing a friendly and competitive video game and spending time with his family as well as his faithful companion, his dog Smoky.

Jimmy was very intelligent and well-read. He was easy to get along with and could hold a conversation on any subject. He’d light up a room with his smile and unique sense of humor and wit.

Jimmy will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit He was a wonderful son and brother who was dearly loved by his family and will forever be in their hearts.

Jimmy was the beloved son of Regina (Quinlan) DeRosa of Wilmington and John DeRosa of Peabody, dear brother of Justin DeRosa of Monument, Colorado and Mark DeRosa of Wilmington, loving grandson of Arthur and the late Theresa DeRosa of Lynnfield and Delia and the late John Quinlan of Reading. Nephew of Glenn and Kathleen DeRosa of Lynnfield, Anna and the late Alan DeRosa of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Barbara Quinlan and her companion Dean Hartling of Beverly, Margie Quinlan and Kathleen Quinlan both of Reading and the late Mary Quinlan. Jimmy is also survived by his cousins Matthew and Patrick DeRosa both of Lynnfield. He will be dearly missed by friends Gordy, Matt, Jeff, Andrew, Jess, and Alex, as well as, a large extended family.

Family and friends may gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, for Visiting Hours on Saturday, December 5th from 9:00-11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jimmy will follow in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 12:00 noon. Masks are required to be worn while in the Funeral Home and at Church.
