Jane M. (MacMullin) MacEachern

September 29th, 2019

Jane M. MacEachern (MacMullin), age 83, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on September 28, 2019.

Jane was born on May 21, 1936, in Brighton, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Allan and Alberta MacMullin. Jane was raised in a close-knit family in Wilmington; in her early years she attended Wilmington Schools and was a graduate of St. Charles High School in Woburn. Jane was very close to her siblings and made many life-long friends while growing up in Wilmington.

On September 5, 1959, Jane married her “sweetheart” Norman MacEachern; together they raised a wonderful family of five children and just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Jane was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, her family was her world. Jane was always there to cheer on her children and later her grandchildren at quite a few school and sporting events and dance recitals; she never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments. Jane had an “open door” policy and enjoyed her house being full with family, friends and kids; she loved to entertain and she always made everyone feel welcomed and loved in her home and if you were lucky enough you may have had the chance to hear her her play a few tunes on the piano.

Jane looked forward to family vacations; especially when they all went to Cape Breton in Canada to visit family and re-trace their roots.

Prior to retiring, Jane, worked as a secretary for the Suburban News for many years where she made lots of life-long friends.

Jane will be fondly remembered as a “caregiver” to anyone in need; she was very compassionate towards her family, friends and those that were less fortunate. She was kind and generous of her time and talents to help anyone; Jane never held a grudge she was always very forgiving and willing to put others needs ahead of her own. She was funny, she was faithful and she was feisty, just the right mix of sweet and sassy. She was truly an “angel on earth”.

Jane’s unconditional love and devotion to her family and friends was evident in everything she did and she always did everything with a warm smile and a friendly manner. Jane was truly a remarkable lady who will forever be in the hearts of those she touched.

Jane was the beloved wife of 60 years to Norman D. MacEachern, devoted mother of Karen Strem & her partner Frank Moss of North Andover, Patty Fay & her husband Mike of Wilmington, Janice Hanlon & her husband Billy of Billerica, Nancy Acquaviva & her husband Dave of Haverhill and Joe MacEachern & his wife Annie of Londonderry, NH. Loving “Nana” of Justin, Matthew & his wife Michelle, Brendan, Mikey & his wife Kristen, Sean, Corey & his wife Dana, Brett, Tyler, Emily, Kyle, Shane, Ava and great-granddaughter Delaney Mae. Still can’t believe it. You gave JaneDog an amazing send-off. I know I lucked out bigtime when I met Janice in 4th grade and became part of your family. The MacEacherns are the true meaning of family. You should be so proud of how you cared for her–especially honoring her wish to go home. She was so special. Loved her warm, sweet & feisty personality. One of a kind for sure. I love you all. We love you all. Our hearts are with you. Love Nancy & Bill
