Janet Dolfi

February 17th, 2021

Janet Dolfi (Sorrentino), 62, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 14, 2021.

Janet was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Dolfi. She is survived by her loving sister Sheila Bissett and her late husband Steve of Wilmington, devoted “Auntie” to Justin and Michele and her beloved “great” nephew Benjamin of Wilmington and dear sister-in-law of Michael Dolfi and Elaine Devereaux both of Stoneham. Janet was the devoted Auntie to Taylor Dolfi, Michael Dolfi and friend Asael and Daniel Devereaux and Casey. Janet is survived by many loving, cousins and friends and “Great Auntie” to Benjamin, Amari, Little Joey, Isiah Thomas and Daniel John.

Janet was born in Somerville, MA, on September 22, 1958; cherished daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Fedeli) Sorrentino. Janet, along with her sister Sheila were raised in Medford where Janet attended Medford public schools and was a graduate of Medford High School. Janet married Thomas “Tommy” Dolfi and the couple shared over 30 years of marriage and enjoyed great times with families and friends throughout the years.

As an avid animal lover, Janet found her calling and passion caring for, Harlee, the beloved family dog also known as “Eggie” (that’s what Tommy called her). Dakota, the first pony, who was a gift for her nephew Justin’s 3rd birthday inspired and launched their business “Pony Express” bringing joy and love to so many families. Janet and Tommy, along with their horses, traveled all over New England to birthday parties, special celebrations, school events and town fares, bringing smiles, giggles and fun to countless children throughout the years. They were also very generous with their business venture as they donated their time and horses to many charitable events.

Janet will be fondly remembered as a kind, caring and fun-loving lady. She went out of her way to help others and loved her family and friends unconditionally; she always looked out for them and did whatever she could to help out. Janet looked forward to the time she spent with her parents, sister and nephew whom she loved with all her heart. Janet was such a kind and beautiful soul who will forever be missed by all who loved her.

Due to the current pandemic and for everyone’s safety, Janet’s family will have a celebration of her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Janet’s memory to Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, 200 Westboro Road, North Grafton, MA 01536
