Jean M. Caizzi

Jean M. Caizzi (Rotondi), age 77, of Tewksbury, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2017, at the Blaire House in Tewksbury.

Jean was born in Boston, MA on February 22, 1940; she was raised and educated in East Boston and was the Valedictorian of her East Boston High School Class. Jean also spent a lot of time with family in Maine as a young girl.

On September 4, 1960, Jean married her “sweetheart” Lawrence J. Caizzi; the couple lived in East Boston before moving to Wilmington in 1972 where they raised their five wonderful children. Jean was very devoted to her family and she really enjoyed the time she spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

For many years, Jean was a bookkeeper for the Commercial Bank and Trust Company in Wilmington. Jean was very conscientious and hardworking which made her quite an asset to the bank.

In her spare time, Jean enjoyed reading, cooking, and traveling; especially her trips to Las Vegas with her husband Larry.

Jean will be remembered as a lovely lady, she was kind and caring towards others; never expecting anything in return. Jean loved her family and friends unconditionally and she will forever be in their hearts.

Jean was the beloved wife of Lawrence J. Caizzi, devoted mother of Lisa Hayward & husband Tim and Lawrence Caizzi Jr. & wife Rita all of Dracut, Paul Caizzi & wife Marie of Bolton, Linda O’Donnell & husband John of Tewksbury and Jeanine Strom & husband Jonathan of Ellenton, FL. Loving “Grammy” of Christopher & wife Alyson, Justin & wife Tracy, Kayla, Nicolas and the Late Jeremy Hayward, Michael, David, Lauren and Anthony Caizzi, Brittany McLeod, Scott Thurlow, John and Laura O’Donnell, Benjamin and Rachel Strom, and Great-Granchildren Cora and Jacob. Dear daughter of the late Victor Rotondi and Nellie (Chaffee) Howard and step-daughter of the late Irene Rotondi. Sister of Anthony Rotondi & wife Dottie of Florida, Victor Rotondi of Canada, Gary and Robert Howard of Maine and the late Barbara Labbe. Jean is also survived by her sisters-in-law Marie Hutchinson and Lee Caizzi as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Sunday, August 6th for Visitation from 1:00-4:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
