John F. Connolly, “Jack”, age 86, a long-time resident of Haverhill, passed away on October 18, 2021.
Jack was born on May 24, 1935, in Boston, MA; he was the son of the late Michael and Nellie (Woodrow) Connolly. Jack moved to Tewksbury with his family at age two; he attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Lowell Technical High School.
Jack enlisted in the Army on February 24, 1958. He served in Germany for two years in the same outfit as Elvis Presley; he was a life-long fan of Elvis. Jack was honorably discharged from the military on February 8, 1960 and returned home to his family.
When Jack’s father retired from his long career as a longshoreman, Jack accepted his father’s union card. He worked as a longshoreman for I.L.A. Local 800-A in Boston for many years until he retired.
After Jack’s parents passed away, he moved to Haverhill. He enjoyed going to horse and dog races and spending time with his extended family.
Jack was the dear brother of Michael Connolly & his wife Maureen of Westborough, the late Donald Connolly & his late wife Jeannette, the late Neil Connolly & his wife Patricia of Weymouth, the late Mary Allen & her late husband Richard, and the late Carol Sallee & her late husband Dwight. Jack is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., (Rte. 38), Wilmington, on Saturday, October 30th at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tewksbury.

Uncle Jack, you were always so kind to me since I was a kid and came to every family event. You always went out of your way to make me feel comfortable. Thank you. I will never forget you and your cool sunglasses. Hope there are the best horse races ever where ever you are.
