He was predeceased by his parents Milo and Mabel (Saunders) of Wilmington. He leaves behind a son Mark and his wife Vicki and five granddaughters Alexxa, Cana, Toria, Mia and Serena and his daughter Margo and her husband Don and their children Daniel and Brianna. He also leaves his special sister Irene (Baker) Meleschuk of Tewksbury and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was also predeceased by his brothers Delbert Ingalls (Ruth), Charles Ingalls (Rita) and Milo Ingalls (Dorothy), brother in law Robert Baker and his nephew David Ingalls.
John worked for Continental Can Company in Londonderry, NH up until his retirement in 1997. He adored his Red Sox through thick and thin and so wished his Father lived to see them win a World Series. He was an avid runner and participated in almost 100 marathons throughout the US, Canada and Australia. He was a famous runner along route 102 in Derry, NH as he ran the same route for over 30 years. He was an avid reader and spent many hours tutoring students on how to read. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School class of 1950 and a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, South Dakota class of 1962.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Wilmington Methodist Church, 87 Church Street, (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA at 11 am. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, where he will be buried with his parents. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nichols Funeral Home in Wilmington, MA.
