Family was very important to John; he was a devoted husband and father; he loved his daughter-in-law Susan and cherished his only grandchild Nicole.

John was a hard worker; for many years he worked as a Machinist while attending night school to earn is degree as an Insurance Actuary. In the mid 1960’s John went to work for the State of Massachusetts as an Insurance Examiner and retired in 1987.

Throughout the years John and Ellie enjoyed traveling with their family and friends. John loved to explore new places, meet new people, and most of all sample all kinds of food. One of John’s favorite places to visit was New Orleans where he could listen to jazz, dance in the streets, and eat his favorite Cajun dishes; everyone always had a good time when they traveled with John.

What a great loss for me and all our family. Uncle Johnny took me to my first baseball game at Fenway Park and bought me my first baseball glove. He and his wife Ellie led a wonderful life together: many travel trips, lots of dancing, ever social, quick to laugh, always the center of attention at any party, even in their advanced years. The two were caring and generous to others, and raised a wonderful son in Stephen, so devoted to them. May the memory of his Mom and Dad be a blessing to him, his family, and to all who loved them.

  2. Joe Stack says:

So sad to hear he’s gone. Great guy and a lot of fun. Godspeed, John.
