Joseph F. Cormier

Joseph Cormier, age 81, of Estero, Florida, formerly of Wilmington, MA, passed away on January 17, 2012 at Life Care of Estero.  Joe will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandparent.  He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage.  He also leaves a dear daughter Michelle Cormier-Holbrook who he adored.  He was the loving grandfather of his grandson Jerry Gagne,  granddaughters Amanda Gagne and Jessica Holbrook.   He leaves his foster sisters Kathy Cavagnaro and Barbara Rose both of Woburn, MA and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his foster family Mr. & Mrs. John Nohelty, Jack Nohelty, and Ruth Sherburne.

Joe was a Design Engineer and worked for Raytheon for 38 years, he truly cherished his affiliation and involvement with many people at Raytheon.  Mr. Cormier has always loved boats and living near the beach was his fulfillment of a long time dream.  Living 40 years in Wilmington, MA he retired and became a resident of Florida.  He would spend 6 months at Ossippee Lake, NH where his summer home was. He was the foundation and patriarch of our family, and will be missed greatly.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours on Friday, June 15th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington.  A dinner to commemorate and celebrate Joe’s life will immediately follow.
