Joyce (Barnaby) Albowicz

May 2nd, 2018

Joyce A. Albowicz (Barnaby), age 75, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on May 2, 2018.

Joyce was born on February 21, 1943 in Medford; she was the dear daughter of the late Floyd and Evelyn Barnaby. Joyce was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1961.

Joyce married her late husband Anthony “Tony” Albowicz on November 16, 1963; they were parents to three wonderful children. Family was everything to Joyce; she treasured the time they spent together, and always showered her family with unconditional love and support. Joyce looked forward to her role as “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she loved to shop for them, take care of them and find any excuse just to be with them; they were the light of her life.

Joyce was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a long-time member of the Wilmington Congregation that attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall in Wilmington where she made many friends throughout the years.

Joyce will be fondly remembered for her endearing personality and her great sense of humor; she had a keen ability to make people laugh. Joyce was warm, friendly, pleasant; she made others feel welcomed and loved. Joyce had a smile to light up a room and people were drawn to her; she was really a wonderful lady who will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Anthony L. “Tony” Albowicz, devoted mother of Tracy Burke & husband Daniel, Anthony David Albowicz all of Wilmington and Douglas Albowicz of Tewksbury. Loving “Nana” of Kyle Burke & wife Kayla, Shawn Burke, Daylon Burke, David Sullivan-Albowicz and Great-Grandchildren Kyle Jr., Kassidy and Hailey. Cherished daughter of the late Floyd and Evelyn (Foote) Barnaby, dear sister of Linda Rollins of Goffstown, NH and Florida, Arthur Barnaby & wife Marsha of Florida and the late Floyd Barnaby. Joyce is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, May 5th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 1 Bridge Lane, Wilmington, MA 01887.
