Kenneth M. Budd

Kenneth M. Budd, age 74, of Conway, NH and Nokomis, FL, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 10, 2016, at Genesis Healthcare in North Conway, NH.

Ken was born in Cambridge, MA on December 27, 1941; he was the dear son of the late Malcolm and Aline Budd. Ken lived in Waltham for a few years before moving to Wilmington when he was six years old. Ken was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1959.

Ken worked as a Mechanical Draftsman for Raytheon for many years before retiring in 1999. Ken was a very conscientious employee and always wanted to do his best, throughout his career Ken attended classes at Lowell Tech to improve his skills. Ken’s strong work ethic and endearing personality made Ken a favorite amongst his co-workers.

Ken loved being outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and going to the beach in the summer months and was quite a skier during the winter. Ken was also an avid gardener and enjoyed working around the house.

Following retirement, Ken and his wife Ann became “snowbirds” spending their winters in Nokomis, Florida and their summers in Conway, New Hampshire. Ken and Ann loved to travel and made many friends wherever they went.

Ken was a wonderful family man; his family was always his number one priority and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. Ken always beamed with pride when he spoke of his children and grandchildren and he cherished all of the time they spent together. Ken will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Ken was the beloved husband of Annmarie (Shreenan) Budd, devoted father of Sonya Ross & husband Frankie of Methuen, Pamela Gondola & husband John of Tewksbury, Angelina McGlashan & husband Jon of Windham, NH, Debra Carriere & husband Anthony, Donna Connolly & husband Dennis all of Wilmington and the late David Stomboli. Loving “Grandpa” of Carly & Will Ross, Lucas & Cameron Gondola, Justin, Vanessa & Shane McGlashan, Noah, Nathan, & Isabel Carriere, Ella & Grace Connolly. Cherished son of the late Malcolm and Aline (Dufresne) Budd, dear brother of Paul Budd of Conway, NH and Nancy Kelley & husband Arthur of Wilmington. Ken was also husband of the late Maryann (Soroka) Budd and he is survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, November 16th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 15th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Ken’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

    My sincere condolences to everyone that will miss my Uncle Kenny. I remember him most from when I was a young girl. My favorite times were the weekends spent with my cousins together in Wilmington or in the summer going to visit my Aunt Cookie and Uncle Kenny at the chalet in Conway and going to the beach. These are traditions that continued on with my cousins till this past summer with their dad. He will be missed
