Kerri A. Moynihan

May 1st, 2017

Kerri A. Moynihan, 32, passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2017. She was the beloved daughter of Paul and Janet (Ciampa) Moynihan and dear granddaughter of John and Elizabeth Moynihan, the late Angelina Moynihan and the late George and Anna Ciampa. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Raised in Wilmington, Kerri graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2002 and Northeastern University with honors.

Never fond of the cold New England winters, she moved to Southern California to pursue a career in finance. Kerri was a certified public accountant (CPA) who loved her job and spent much of her free time walking, biking and relaxing by the beach.

Despite living on the opposite coast, Kerri considered Boston to be her true home. She traveled back frequently for gatherings with her family and friends, all of whom meant the world to her. Kerri never missed a trip back East to celebrate her favorite holiday, Christmas, or to make her annual summertime trek to North Conway, New Hampshire. Spending time with family and friends was her most cherished pastime. Kerri was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved the most.

A passionate animal lover, Kerri had a special place in her heart for cats, especially her beloved Mr. Leo. She often volunteered at animal shelters and made donations to help animals in need.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, May 4th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 3rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Donations in Kerri’s memory may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.

    Dear Moynihan Family,
I used to work with Kerri at ATVI as well. Kerri was my first senior ever. As a fresh new hire straight out of college working in a big and foreign corporate environment, she made my work transition less daunting through her warm heart and cheery attitude. Learning from her was always a joy as she had the patience of saint. She will always hold a special place in my career as she helped me get my CPA. I owe her a lot and it saddens me to know that I have ran out of time to repay her. My condolences goes out to you all.

    To the Moynihan family,

Terribly saddened by this tragic loss. I worked with Kerri and a number of her teammates when I was back at ATVI and no matter what she was working on, she would always find time to help me. You could tell she was a leader and her coworkers loved her. I’ll never forget talking sports with her. My thoughts and prayers are with Kerri, her family and her close friends.

    To Kerri’s family,

I’m so sorry to hear about Kerri’s passing. Kerri was my Wilmington to LA buddy. She invited me out the very first weekend I was here in LA and knew next to no one, and her invites didn’t stop there. And she spurred me along to get my very own black cat (who she called Leo’s nephew). It was so nice to get to know her better over the last year. Her sense of humor was great and she was always very kind. She’ll be greatly missed.
