Kevin T. “Becca” Berrigan

January 12th, 2018

Kevin T. Berrigan “Becca”, age 81, a life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away on January 10, 2018, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Kevin was born on March 31, 1936 in Woburn, MA; he was the dear son of the late John and Mary Berrigan. Kevin was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1954.

In September of 1957, Kevin was inducted into the United States Army; serving more than six years during the Vietnam War. Kevin was honorably discharged from active duty in 1963 and returned home to his family in Wilmington.

Kevin married Beverly Desrochers on September 19, 1964; the couple shared over 53 years together, raised two wonderful children, and had many great times with their family and friends. When Kevin became a “Papa” to his six grandchildren his whole world became even brighter. Kevin treasured the time he spent with those kids; whether it was playing in the pool, acting goofy with selfies, or sharing a special occasion, he beamed with pride when he spoke of them.

Kevin was a hard worker; for many years he owned and operated the Needham Shade and Linoleum Company. Kevin’s endearing personality, his work ethic, and his ability to treat his clients with honesty and respect made him quite a success in his field. Kevin was fondly known as “the Shade Man”; he was very meticulous, a perfectionist and it showed with each job he finished; his work was second to none.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed golfing with his buddies, going to the race track with friends, and looking forward to his annual trip with his wife Beverly to Saratoga. Kevin also enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family.

Kevin will be fondly remembered as a “character” with a great sense of humor and a big heart. Kevin was kind and friendly and he would go out of his way to do for others. Kevin was a great guy who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kevin was the beloved husband of Beverly A. (Desrochers) Berrigan, devoted father of Lawrence “Larry” Berrigan & his wife Karen of Westford and Sandra Fallica & her husband Mark of Acton, loving “Papa” of Molly and John Berrigan, Valerie, Joseph, Claire and Grace Fallica, cherished son of the late John L. & Mary I. (McDonald) Berrigan, dear brother of Paul Berrigan of N. Chelmsford, Virginia Mailloux of Ellenton, FL and the late John L. Berrigan, Jr.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, January 15th from 4:00 – 7:45 p.m. immediately followed by a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m. The Service will conclude with Military Honors.

Memorial donations in Kevin’s name may be made to the Learning Center for the Deaf, 848 Central Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
